I received an email today from the author of Free Money Finance to let me know that one of my posts was featured in the Carnival of Capitalists. It was 3 Business Rules To Live By.
Please check out the Carnival of Capitalists and enjoy the wide spectrum of posts.
As I’ve said in the past, blog carnivals are a great way to get some link love, traffic and buzz. Most posts featured in blog carnivals do relate very well to the carnival topic, so the audience checking the carnival out should be a good fit for your own blog.
I scanned through the Carnival of Capitalists and saw a few posts I wanted to highlight:
- Referral business: Customer evangelists by Wayne Hulbert. We all know referrals are important to business, but how do you get them? Wayne’s right on the money when he says that most people just ask customers if they know anyone who might be interested in their services. The response is a friendly, “I’ll think about it,” and the conversation is quickly forgotten. So true. Wayne’s got some steps you can take to implement a referral system and turn customers into evangelists.
- Outsourcing, Disasters and the One-Man Band by C.E.H. Wiedel. Short and to the point, this post reminds us that s–t happens, and when it does, very few small businesses and solopreneurs are ready.
- Top 10 Business Shenanigans of 2006. This headline caught my eye. The shenanigans listed in this post are right on-the-money; it’s amazing what kind of absolute nonsense takes place in the corporate world. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry…mostly you’ll shake your head and say, “oy.”
